about us

St Stephen’s Anglican Church, Parish of Lidcombe (Lidcombe Anglican) is an evangelical Christian church in NSW.

Lidcombe Anglican (LAC) was built in 1875 and has since been growing steadily as a community. From a single congregation then, we are now three congregations today that each run in a different language (English, Cantonese, Mandarin) and have their own individual strengths in ministry.

The mission of our church is to reach out, make disciples and build a Christian community to the glory of God.

Our ministry teams at Lidcombe Anglican Church seek to provide a spiritual home where believers can grow in knowledge and love of God through faithful and relevant teaching of His Word, heartfelt worship, and warm fellowship among God’s people.

We invite you to become a part of this Bible based, evangelical church family.

what we believe

Our beliefs are summarised in this statement:
  • The divine inspiration and infallibility of Holy Scripture, as originally given, and its supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
  • The unity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in the Godhead.
  • The universal sinfulness and guilt of human nature since the fall, rendering man subject to God’s wrath and condemnation.
  • The conception of Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit and his birth of the virgin Mary.
  • Redemption from the guilt, penalty and power of sin only through the sacrificial death(as our Representative and Substitute) of Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Son of God.
  • The bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
  • The necessity of the work of the Holy Spirit to make the death of Christ effective to the individual sinner, granting him/her repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ.
  • The indwelling and work of the Holy Spirit in the believer.
  • The expectation of the return of the Lord Jesus Christ, as judge of all people
